Support your child to gain a qualification at home

Youth Scotland have made 1000 free resources available to parents and carers to help them to support their child to gain a qualification at home.  The Hi5 and Dynamic Youth Awards (DYA) are wider achievement awards that follow an engaging and fun plan-do-review format. Hi5 Awards are aimed at children aged 5+ and DYA at age 10+.

All completed awards receive a certificate. Both awards are nationally recognised and are credit rated and levelled by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

The resources will be made available to the first 1000 applicants on a first come first served basis.  Click here for further information and to access this free resource.

Rescheduling of our S2 Outward Bound Trip August 2020

Dear Parent/Carer

Rescheduling of our S2 Outward Bound Trip August 2020

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic we have sadly, but very understandably had to make the decision to postpone your child’s S2 Outward Bound trip, planned to take place on our return to school in August. There is good news however in that we have been working hard with Outward Bound and have been able to  reschedule the trip into next year.

At present we have two weeks provisionally booked for the re-scheduled trip. Both are next year on either the week commencing 7th June 2021 or the week commencing 23rd August 2021.  We  can’t specify the exact date at this moment due to a number of factors including staff availability and possible changes in prices. We are currently exploring with Outward Bound ways to bring the cost very much in line with a similar price students were asked to pay for the trip this year.

We will have more information to share with you when the school reopens after the summer break in August. However, in the meantime if you have any queries including those about payments already made, then please contact the school office before Thursday 25th June. Due to altered working practices during school closure the best way to make contact is by email, using the following address: Admin@Gracemount.edin.sch.uk
